Cast stretch film generally does not require special cleaning during use; however, routine cleaning and protective measures are essential to ensure optimal packaging performance and effectiveness. Before storage or use, inspect the film surface for dust, impurities, or oil stains. If minor dust is present, wipe it gently with a clean, soft cloth, avoiding rough tools that could scratch the surface.
To mitigate dust contamination in the storage environment, the packaging area should be cleaned regularly, and the warehouse kept dry and tidy to minimize the accumulation of dust and debris on the film. Avoid using strong acids, strong alkalis, or corrosive cleaning agents, as these can alter the film's molecular structure and compromise its tensile strength, self-adhesion, and overall service life.
If the film surface is contaminated with oil or other stubborn substances, select an appropriate cleaning method based on the severity of the contamination. Generally, a neutral detergent can be used for spot cleaning; ensure the film dries completely afterward to prevent residual moisture from affecting adhesion. Films that are heavily contaminated or have degraded performance should be replaced promptly to avoid compromising packaging quality.
When using stretch-wrapping equipment, pay attention to the cleanliness and maintenance of machine components. Regularly clean parts that come into contact with the film-such as rollers and guide rollers-to prevent the transfer of accumulated dust or oil onto the film surface. Maintaining the cleanliness of both the equipment and the film not only improves packaging results but also reduces issues like film damage or breakage, thereby extending the product's service life.
